Founded in 2006, Yardstick Services was originally created to support executives and senior consultants working on specific business development initiatives in and around Vancouver. In his dealings with small and medium-sized companies, Kevin McLeod realized that the web-design industry was not well structured to meet the needs of small business owners and decided to refocus the business. In 2008, the strategy was officially shifted to focusing on small business web design. A flat monthly-rate business model was created which was designed specifically to help small and medium-sized companies get great looking websites at an affordable monthly budget. In 2009, Kevin’s brother, Brendon McLeod was brought on board and the two continue to work together to manage and grow the business.
