Melismatic: (Greek: μέλισμα, melisma, song, air, melody; from μέλος, melos, song, melody, plural: melismata), in music, is the singing of a single syllable of text while moving between several different notes in succession. Well-used melisma is beautiful, masterful and engaging. It’s a way to communicate emotion and bring new meaning to any lyric. Our owner and chief designer, Renee A.
