Founded in 1990 and now in its 29th year of operation, The Hastings Group (THG) is a full-service consulting firm that specializes in issues management and lobbying, coalition outreach, public relations, social media, Web projects and branding/advertising with specialties in investor/consumer education; health/education; the environment; and telecommunications/general technology. Most recently, THG has branched off into the development of apps and OTT television channels for Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV and other platforms. With a staff of more than 12 full- and part-time employees, The Hastings Group was conceived of and launched by Scott Edward Stapf and Maureen Thompson. Stapf and Thompson resolved to create the firm when they realized that there was no focused “white hat” consulting firm specializing in the representation of nonprofits, membership groups, trade groups, corporations, and other organizations.
