Wide Body Kit Fitment Guide: BMW E90/E91, Subaru Impreza GC/GF, Toyota Caldina ST215, and Mitsubishi Legnum Galant VIII
Share this post
Most wide body kit orders arrive wrong because the buyer specified the platform without specifying the chassis variant.
For the E90/E91, GC/GF, ST215, and Legnum, the fitment variables are knowable before ordering. Getting them wrong means the panels do not fit, the installer quotes unexpected metalwork, and the build stalls. This guide covers the checks that prevent that.
Chassis code is the primary fitment variable
The BMW E90/E91 runs from 2004 to 2012, split by the 2008 LCI facelift. The LCI changed the front bumper shape, headlights, and grille. A front lip designed for the pre-LCI bumper will not align with the LCI bumper. Any front component must specify pre-LCI (2004–2008) or LCI (2008–2012). The E90 sedan and E91 touring wagon also differ at the rear quarter panel. Rear overfenders are not interchangeable between the two body styles.
The Subaru Impreza GC (sedan) and GF (sport wagon) share front geometry but differ at the rear arch. Rear overfenders are body-style specific. Specify GC or GF at time of ordering. The 22B STi was produced on a factory-widened shell; the standard kit is not validated for it.
The Toyota Caldina 190–199 and 210–215 are distinct chassis. The ST215 GT-T is the turbocharged variant and the standard target for wide body builds. Any part listed for "Toyota Caldina" without a chassis code qualifier is insufficient.
The Mitsubishi Legnum is the estate variant of the Galant VIII. Front geometry is shared with the sedan, but rear quarter panels and bumper profiles differ. Rear components are not interchangeable between the two body styles.
Confirm chassis code and body style with the supplier before placing any order on these platforms.
Material and fitment scope
Body Kit Online Store produces FRP panels by hand-layup using European resins with controlled elasticity. Panels ship in white gelcoat, ready for paint. All kits add approximately 50mm per side, bringing the E90 rear track from 1,513mm to approximately 1,613mm and the GC rear track from 1,460mm to approximately 1,560mm. Factory wheel offset specifications are not compatible with the wider arch; confirm the required offset change with your installer before ordering wheels.
Installation on all four platforms requires cutting the factory fender lip. On the GC/GF and Legnum, rear arch metalwork is required. The cuts are permanent. Total labor before paint runs 16–40 hours depending on kit scope and the installer's experience on the platform.
What ships and what to source separately
A full kit includes front fenders, rear overfenders (body-style specific), side skirts, a front lip, and a rear bumper diffuser. Mounting hardware, paint, and primer are not included. The kit is designed for the existing factory bumper; replacement is not required.
