How Tech Founders Access Capital at Longevity Summits and Pop-Up Cities

In 2023, roughly 200 residents spent two months at Lustica Bay, Montenegro, in Zuzalu, the pop-up city co-created by Vitalik Buterin. It ran from March 25 to May 25, as CoinDesk reported. The conversations that mattered happened at shared dinners, not on a stage.

The era of handing out business cards on a convention floor is over for founders raising in longevity and biotech. Ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices have moved to environments where healthspan is the status symbol. They skip the noisy expos and invest in founders who understand human biology and systemic resilience.

Two Tiers, Two Playbooks

The first tier is the decentralized pop-up city. After Zuzalu came ZuConnect in Istanbul, which by Gitcoin's count drew about 300 full-time residents and 100 or more part-time visitors. Access is application-only and the barrier is behavioral, not financial. Contact is daily and informal: cold plunges, working sessions, shared meals, over 2 to 8 weeks. There are no pitch decks. Your presence and contribution are the pitch.

The second tier is the elite private summit, led by the Longevity Investors Conference at Le Grand Bellevue in Gstaad. The conference's own site lists the 2026 edition as September 14 to 17. It concentrates family offices and biotech VCs in 3 to 4 days of alpine walks, fireside chats and formal dinners. Its 2026 packages were listed at CHF 6,500, 7,400 and 11,900, and about 20% of applicants were accepted. A credible track record and a warm introduction make the application far stronger.

For a seed-stage founder, the pop-up city usually wins. It costs less than the summit and gives weeks of daily contact instead of days, so investors watch how you work before they ever hear what you are building. The summit suits Series A and later, when the goal is a large check from a family office already deploying capital into longevity.

The Rule of Zero Pitching

This is the social contract of both tiers. Bringing up valuation or a seed round in a sauna or an ice bath tells everyone there that you see them as customers, not peers. Credibility goes instantly.

Trust comes from shared discipline instead. Fasting, tracking VO2 max, following the same protocols: these level the field between an early-stage founder and a billionaire. Talk about your own health practice honestly and you show the discipline investors in this space fund. Your lifestyle is your resume.

Measuring What Matters

Belkin Marketing's Measurable Longevity Investor Access Framework tracks three stages: social capital built, business conversations the other person invited, and qualified meetings booked within 30 days of the event.

From Dinner to Deal Flow

The bridge to business is a conversation, not a pitch. Describe the problem you are solving and let the other person ask. Within 24 hours of leaving, send a WhatsApp or Telegram message that names a specific shared moment. Then send a one-page summary that frames your project around long-term resilience.

Pop-up cities and longevity summits are not marketing channels. They are social ecosystems, and capital follows the people who prove they belong.
